Description: Here is a lovely cafe/bistro chair from the early 1900s made by the Jacob & Josef Kohn Company of Vienna, Austria. The bentwood beech chair has a cane seat and a cane back with arms and armrests which are quite rare these days. The original father and son team have a wonderful history dating back to their start in 1849 and is certainly worth reading about if you like history. I actually found a picture of this chair in their 1911-1912 catalogue listed on page 36 as cane seat No. 4345 1/2 chair and there's also a patent date of Sept 1911 on one of the metal hinges as well. The chair has a wonderful style and shape and the color contrast of the dark wood and cane is very elegant and genteel. It's definitely a timepiece from another era and could easily have been a cafe chair on the Titanic. I will list the chair as local pickup only but will be more than happy to facilitate shipping through someone like uShip. Thanks for looking.
