Description: Seller refurbished lamps and lighting. Pair of antique boudoir lamps. Overall height is 10 7/8". Neoclassical, Baroque style bases. Cast iron foot, spelter upright, spelter socket collar. Pair of antique stained glass shades, curved white mottled opal Kokomo glass, like floating in a pillowy cloud when lit or unlit. Both bases fitted with antique P & S slim fit pull chain sockets, brass ball bead pull ends. Bases found bare, void of finish, rusty cast iron, bright grey spelter. Cleaned inside and out, finish applied, new modern wiring & plug ends installed, tested safe and ready for use. The shades were originally designed as slip over the socket type that simply rested atop of the socket, made of thin brass which over the years had stress cracked in several areas. All cracks were soldered for stability, then the socket shells were soldered to the shades for even more strength and confidence in knowing that the shades would not be knocked from the base if moved or bumped accidently, a more permanent design, clicks and locks to the socket cap as usual, simple enough. The socket insulators are black in color and are in fine condition. The shades are 4 3/4" across at the bottom, 4" at the top. No damage to the beautiful pillowy glass. All parts were cleaned after soldering and handling, wiped down with alcohol before finish applied, hand rubbed for depth and warmth, ready for use in any setting. Installed at the sockets are 2 vintage porcelain socket adapters to allow for a more compact bulb fit, x mas tree size, very common size. Shown, included are 2 vintage round 25 watt bulbs, shown working. I chose a 25 watt bulb to highlight the mottled appearance of the glass, too bright and it will wash the spots away.
