Description: This is a very special antique Chinese late Qing Dynasty (c. 1910 - 1920) Famil Rose raised dish in a hand painted butterfly design. It has numerous hand painted butterfly designs in the center as well as around the rim. The symbol of the Butterfly in China is of good fortune. This slightly raised dish was probably intended for mustard or another special sauce. this one would be great for soy sauce for sushi. Measures 3 1/2" in across by 1 1/4" high ( 19 x 3 cm). in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or dings.
