Description: Antique Framed 1932 Cross Stitch Sampler Artwork with Friendship Poem 15" x 12" & Back Photo Bonus of a 14" x 11" (Walter Elmer) E. Chickering (Boston, MA. photographer) original 1895 print of a woman with flowers named "Trilby" believed to be a reference to a character from the 1895 novel, "Trilby" by George du Maurier- Smitten by Trilby's beauty and wanting to possess her, Svengali puts her under his spell with his powers of hypnotism, making the previously tone-deaf model an accomplished singer who performs all over the world in an amnesiac trance. The period frame has period flathead nails. Sampler date is possibly 1932, along with the initials of M.M.I. with a lovely poem about friendship. The 1932 cross-stitch piece is in very good condition, with very little signs of wear but the frame has paint wear, mostly on edges, but it is still structurally sound with no glass cracks. The backing is a 1895 photo print in the condition as seen with wear and nails as shown. Please see all the ENLARGED PHOTOS for more detail. A unique double collectible piece!
