Description: Offered is this beautiful antique majolica Emaux Ombrants plate. Made in the Clairfontaine majolica factory in France between 1860-1885 by Emile Rigal and his brother in law Jules Sanejouand. This plate is nicely marked with their makers mark of RS and an anchor in between. This plate was made to celebrate the Fall Wine Harvest. It features a beautiful maiden with grapes in her hair, there are grapes over her shoulder and she is holding a tastevin wine tasting cup in her hand. She is very beautiful. The rim is beautifully adorned with scrolling flowers and leaves. This gorgeous antique plate measures 9 inches in diameter. It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. It has overall glaze crazing which is normal and expected with antique majolica. Add this to your personal collection, Home Decor or give as a fabulous antique gift that is up to 162 years old.
