Description: Classic Japanese Imari bowl with fine detailed painting. The central floral bouquet is surrounded by three roundels containing house structures and palm trees, which is further surrounded by exuberant chrysanthemums and other floral designs. The bowl measures approximately 8 inches in diameter, tapers to a 4.25 inch foot and sits 1.75 inches from the table. Reverse has dimples in the glaze from firing trivet and unglazed foot. Expected wear to gilding. Provenance: deaccessioned from the Fine Art Museums of San Francisco. Museum inventory number painted on foot but is not permanent and can be removed.
