Description: A fine Paris porcelain sauce tureen with a deep cobalt blue ground, hand painted flowers, gold accent work and animal vignettes. Dates from around second half 19th century. It has a scrawled marking on the bottom along with a marking in red "Lacour, Rue Daguesseau Paris." La Cour translates to "the court" or "courtyard". Rue d'Aguesseau is a street in Paris. The undertray is attached. The cobalt looks bluer in person than it does in my photos. Measures about 9 1/4" by 6 1/2" overall and 6" tall to the finial. Condition is excellent with no chips or cracks and no repairs. As shown in the last photo, there is a short firing separation in the porcelain on the underside of the lid, glazed over, only on the surface, just the way it was made. It is very clean. The decoration and gold are in great shape with only the tiniest bit of wear in a couple spots. A very nice piece of French porcelain. Satisfaction Guaranteed!
