One side is embossed: SANTAL DE MIDY The product Santal de Midy was a medicine for the treatment of venereal and urinary diseases, most notable gonorrhea. Santal is the French name of sandalwood, the principal ingredient of the medicine. Midy is the name of the French pharmaceutical laboratory that pioneered the method of extraction. This bottle probably originally contained pills. Glass is clear but has a purplish hue to it that might not be evident in pictures. Surface wear and mineral discoloration as seen in pictures.
