Description: Antique Tirschenreuth Bavaria Germany Sugar Bowl & Lid Hand Painted This is a beautiful sugar bowl was made at Tirschenreuth, a factory near the Czech Bohemia border. The factory operated from 1888 to 1891. It was sold, but the buyer used the hallmark of crown and shield for years. The pattern is beautiful, with yellow cascading flowers and leaves. Note the gold art deco-like embellishment along the top border. The scalloped edges are trimmed in gold. Note also the unusual shape of this set. The hallmark on the bottom is a green stamp that says, "Bavaria, Hand Painted, Bavarian Porcelain". Unfortunately there is a chip on the lid - see photos.
