Description: This is a very rare set of antique Venetian millefiori beads with Ashanti tribal ethnic gold washed metal band center decorations which come via the African trade. These tribally made metal bead bands were applied by the Ashanti people and are referred to as being 'gold washed' but I do not think the process involves gold it is just referring to the coloration of the metal wash used on the band. This antique Italian bead set with African added metal work is in great overall rustic condition with slight dings. This specimen sets largest bead measures 14.29mm long by 10mm wide and would be perfect for jewelry making or adding to your African trade bead collection.
