Description: This is an antique bisque planter or rectangular vase by German maker Schafer & Vater ca. 1890's to early 1900's, featuring a fantasy - mythological theme of cherubs on the front with griffin handles, in hues of brown, tan and cream. It stands 6.5 inches tall, 6.5 inches long and 3 inches front to back - on slight pedestal feet. This is truly a work of unique art of the time. There are no chips or cracks. There is slight discoloration inside the vase (photographed). It's in remarkable condition for its age. It is marked on the bottom with the Schafer Vater mark and stamped 8285.
