The unit has been upgraded with a brand new latest generation GPS receiver from ublox giving super-quick signal lock (with a good antenna) and ensuring correct date display beyond 2035. The LCD display does not have a backlight (normal on these). It has been tested to confirm that it works as it should. The unit comes with a basic antenna to allow you to test the unit immediately upon receipt. For a permanent installation an outdoor antenna with a full view of the sky will be required. Operation from behind a windows is unlikely to be satisfactory. The antenna voltage is 5V so almost any professional GPS antenna of at least 26dB will suffice. The firmware has been upgraded to the latest version available at the time of listing.
