Description: An authentic ancient Roman coin, uncommonly large (approx. 30mm), dug from the ground and cleaned, heavily worn with only remaining detail being the still visible shape of the portrait, fine details not visible but enough to know that it is an image of a left-facing man, strongly contrasts and is more visible because of it. This coin is unidentified so far, but it is much larger than typical dug ancient coins, approximately 28 or 30mm in diameter. The metal it is made of has not been definitively determined yet, but it could be Electrum (potentially). Electrum is a metal containing both Gold and Silver, mixed together, and was commonly used in coinage in ancient times, and the Gold-to-Silver ratio could and often did vary a great deal. Coins made of Electrum which had high Gold content can often me mistaken for solid Gold. Likewise, Coins made of Electrum that contained low amounts of Gold in the mixture can be mistaken for lesser metals after long periods in the ground, unlike high-karat Gold which can sometimes be found looking new, as Gold doesn't rust or oxidize, but a low-gold content Electrum coin can certainly be dug up looking quite unremarkable and no different in conditional appearance to other dug coins from the same period. This coin is not graded and has not been professionally tested, I myself do not have a way of testing to confirm that the coin is indeed Electrum, nor determine what is the gold-to-silver ratio, assuming that it is. This piece is potentially a steal for someone who recognizes exactly what it is. I cannot guarantee that it is Electrum, but this is what I personally believe to be true.
