Description: The Life of Samuel Johnson, LL.D., Including his Tour to The Hebrides, Correspondence with Mrs. Thrale, &c. &c., by James Boswell. With numerous additions, by John Wilson Croker. Revised and enlarged under his direction, by John Wright (London: Bell & Daldy, 1872) This complete 10-volume set is in fair condition, with the condition issues mainly concerning the bindings. Interiors are clean and unmarked, save for the owner's stamp on each endpaper. Very nice illustrations, several fold-outs, and pretty marbled pastedowns. Top edges are gilt. The books are small, measuring 5 x 7", bound in half-leather with marbled boards. Two volumes have a detached, but present, board. Other condition issues for the bindings include wear to the leather at extremities and fading to the spines. Would make a good restoration project!
