Set on a black marble base. Other have identified this as after Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux. We do not subscribe to this assessment as the signature on this work does not match any known signature of the aforementioned. Nevertheless, this is a well executed bronze most likely of French origin. The age of this sculpture is estimated to be middle third of the 20th century. The dimensions are 21" long, 18" tall, and 7" wide. The weight is approximately 39 lbs. Very good vintage condition with no notable flaws.
