The connector used on these microphones is non-standard and the threads are a little larger - just enough so that the normal connectors are very tight or will not fit. For sale is a new Switchcraft 332Ax adapter to convert vintage Amphenol 5/8 inch screw-on connectors to a 1/4 inch phone jack. This handy adapter allows the use of a guitar cord for a mic cable. It also fits many of the early Steel Guitars. It can also be used to convert the input of many vintage tube guitar amplifiers. This adapter will fit many early mics such as Astatic, Turner, EV, Argonne, and most any mic that has the vintage 5/8 inch screw plug. It also fits many older steel guitars with the screw-on connector allowing the use of a guitar cord. It is a very handy adapter to have around. Thanks for looking.
