Camelot Technology Arthur High-End Audiophile Pure DC D/A Converter

Description: Hello. Cleaning out some equipment I have accumulated over the years and no longer use. Here is for sale is one true audiophile Hugh-End DAC made by Camelot Technology, USA High-End electronic company, model Arthur. This is a pure DC Digital to Analog converter and can be operated via regular 120V supply or pure DC via internal rechargeable batteries. It has two digital inputs: Coaxial and optical TOSLink. It has one Digital Coaxial output, and one single ended RCA line level stereo output. You can operate this by using front panel switches: one for input selection, one for phase, and one for "Rehearsal"- AC operation, "Charge"- to charge the internal batteries, "Performance"- to operate via batteries in pure DC mode; three indicators: "intermission" lit while operating, "low charge" indicating need to charge the batteries and "lock" when there is a signal present thru one of the two digital inputs. I personally prefer DC operation for better,cleaner signal, but regular operation is very close in terms of sound. As you can see this unit is very clean with only a couple of scuffs on the front plate bu the face plate screw on the upper left and one on the edge of the top of face plate in the same area. The top is clean. I am the second owner and used it in my main system,but have too many DACs at the moment and decided to sell some of them. Previous owner had this unit fully recapped. I changed old batteries for a set of new ones with the same specs. You can see the old battery on the last picture, and the new one on one before that. Unit is for 120V operation. Standard power cord will be included. There is no original box or manual, but will pack securely for shipping. This is a vintage unit, works as it should, sold strictly AS IS and guaranteed not DOA. Sounds wonderful, and is one of the rare DACs which sounds very analog. All my equipment comes from my extensive personal collection. Local pick up is always welcome.
