Description: This is probably a pretty rare card. The photo was taken after the Army Corps Of Engineers built the jetty that eroded Bay Ocean. It also caused coastal erosion in Barview and Captain Farley’s cabin was a casualty of the erosion/damage made worse by storms, pictured. Captain Robert Farley was in charge of the first Coast Guard life saving station at Tillamook Bay from its beginning in 1908 until his retirement in 1935. Bar View sustained substantial damage from storm and tide surge on 11-23-1915. This card has significant wear. It is a silver print but has a lot of chipping to the image front layer, so much that much of the top portion of the card is chipped off revealing only the aged paper behind it. There is some sort of white marking on the back. Cancellation is obscured. Corner wear, writing/addressed. NOKO stamp box. c. 1907-1920s. The jetty at Bayocean was constructed in 1914, so this was likely some time after. Stamp missing.
