Description: Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 50mm (5cm) f/2 Zeiss Ikon Contax Rangefinder Lens Tested @ Sony A7RII Trivia: a kind of soft-focus-like (old, primitive coatings), painterly bokeh and funky bokeh pre-war Zeiss' lens, suitable for rangefinder (such as Zeiss Ikon Contax I/II/III) or digital camera with adapter (either somewhat expensive from Asia or 5x cheaper from Ukraine taken from some wrecked Kiev body :-) which I heard work pretty well too). Digital adaptation merely on the buyer. Not having helicoid (which is on the adapter) and being generally prone to light, this is obviously a lens for semi-advanced or advanced vintage MF lens photographers and lovers. I would say the image results can be really pleasing and rewarding in the right hands.Item condition: an item used previously (not serviced), mirrorless tested ok - works. It was tested on a Sony A7RII camera at wide open aperture (backlit) - kindly see a few samples under the item gallery. Very good cosmetical / external condition with lots of attached accessories (note: the "hood" is massively improvized here). The big black lens hood is more or less on display only here as I couldn't get it to attach (not the lens's fault, the front mount is fine). Glasses in excellent condition assessed in proportion to elevated age. About three larger/longer micro-scratches on the middle group of lenses are spottable under the lamp examination - no impact on photography. A smudge or micro-scratch here and there simply has to be taken into account with such and old and fragile item with somewhat sensitive glasses.This is a private sale with no returns or refunds, hence I describe anything imaginable I found or noticed to avoid controversy and possible misdescription.
