A boutique, USA-made and hand-wired iteration of Marshall's JTM45 platform, the Bluesmaster 10 is designed with the same KT66 power tube complement as its inspiration, yet engineered with greater versatility and power scalings so that the "rich, thick, bluesy and mean" sound of a wide-open JTM45 can be achieved at studio and bedroom-friendly levels. Typically offered in 45 watt and 20 watt versions, this British Bluesmaster is a one-off, pushing 10 watts to further enhance usability at low volumes. And while currently loaded with a pair of Tung Sol-made KT66s in the power section, the amp can use any of the following power tube types (with re-biasing): EL-34, KT77, 5881, 6L6GC, 6V6 or 6550s. Bias ports and externally accessed bias pots allow the user to swap tubes with ease. A two-channel, single input design, the circuit is internally jumpered (skipping the patch cable most Marshall aficionados use to bridge the two channels). London Power Scaling retains the raw bite of the circuit down to 1/10th of a watt, and the two Volume knobs are very interactive. The amp features standard Bass/Mid/Treble/Presence controls, with a SAG knob (the tube rectifier effect) that is completely variable, offering the tightness of a solid state rectifier and the simulated sweet sag of a tube. The Bright Boost two-way mini toggle ensures greater usability with darker-voiced guitars, and a Crisp/Stock voicing switch adds further tweakability. The back panel features two speaker outputs, a 4/8/16 ohm rotary switch, and external bias test points. USA-made and hand-wired for optimal tone and reliability, the British Bluesmaster 10 is engineered to provide the shortest possible signal path, with every consideration made to ensure the lowest possible noise floor. Components include Malory 150 and Panasonic capacitors, Panasonic/Nichicon filter caps, a custom-wound toroidal power transformer, Hammond output transformer, and Cliff jacks (made in the UK). The cabinet features smooth black tolex with gold piping, Plexi front and rear control panels, and Marshall-style barrel knobs and handle.
