Description: Very popular prayer and guide book by Fr. F. X. Lasance---The Catholic Girl's Guide and Sunday Missal. Contains both Latin and English. This edition was copyrighted in 1946 by Benzinger Brothers. For a prayer book that is over 70 years old, this book is in quite good condition, and comes with two holy cards pasted inside the cover, and two extra ones, besides. There is a name and address written on an inner page, and a longer prayer to St. Expedit, a saint to be prayed to when a speedy answer is needed, on this inside. I have restored this prayer book, installed new ribbons, and reinforced the binding, which was coming apart. It is now glued and strengthened with cloth library tape all around. This should give good service for many years. The cover is genuine leather and the edges are gilt. The pages tend to be wavy from moisture at some point, but the inside is clean and in very good condition. There is no smell. This missal and girl's guide is not easy to find and when it is found it is often in very poor condition. This copy looks very good and is a pleasure to hold in the hand and use.
