Description: A little family history: this figure was inherited from my grandmother who had an antique store in Peking in the 1920s. While these are considered an antique today she must have had these in the store to sell to tourists of the time. That said, the two figures up for sale were kept by her, displayed in her home, and passed on to my parents, and then me. The craftsmanship is exquisite. See the details: on the face - its expression, the skin tone, the earrings that articulate yet look to be one piece, on the feet - all ten toes and toe nails and their positions indicate the clay was wonderfully sculpted before firing, on the robe - the folds and wonderful color and patina. All said this is a wonderful sculpture. If any of you have any knowledge of these pieces (there is a separate listing for a second piece), who the artist, any pictures of the other of the 8 Immortals, or what the Chinese Character Mark on the bottom says, I would very much appreciate the information. Although I am selling these I want to be fair on price but have no idea of their value. Consequently, my starting point is what I think they are worth, but make you offer and let's discuss any info you have to add. Thank you for your consideration.
