Description: In 1935 there was a cover in the Saturday Evening Post by Norman Rockwell commonly known as ‘Santa At His Desk’ and shows a busy Santa on Christmas Day already beginning his work for next year. The colors on this piece are vivid and the detail is exquisite. Santa is sitting on his stool in front of his desk going thru stacks of letters that he got out of his US Mail sack. The desk and Santa are on top of a 12”x12” base with words ‘Christmas’ on all 4 sides. There are some chips/cracks on corners. There is a large metal candle on his desk which is removable. The desk is solid and heavy with…bottom rail has cracked but still in place and not noticeable. Santa’s mail sack has fading to the words US Mail. Total size when set up is 9 1/2” x 9 1/2”base …Santa is 10” high x 7” wide x 7” deep. Desk is 8” high x 5. 1/2” wide x 4” deep. Candle is 3 1/2” high. The letter sack is 4” x 4” with 5 1/2” strap. Bottom base is lined in brown felt. Very nice piece ready to join your Christmas display. Please see many many photos as they are a part of my description.
