Description: To maximize the chances your package will arrive before Christmas, please order BEFORE November 24Colorado continental divide Monarch Pass sign. Up for sale today is this Colorado Monarch Pass sign. Made to the exact 1948 standard used by the state of Colorado until the 1970s when green highway signs with white text took over. This sign was posted at the top of the pass on US highway 50, at 11,312 feet elevation, alongside a second guide sign with the distances to various cities on either side of the pass. (please see my other auctions for the companion sign!) This sign is flat printed on steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 33 pounds, 2 ounces. the sign is 36 by 36 inches, which is the exact same size as the original one seen in the field. (if you would like a smaller version, please see my other auctions!) This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close! I can of course make these signs with any route number of your choice, and not just this style, but older and newer ones, and even the classic mileage, direction, and city limit guide signs from the era. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A. Figure about 35 pounds for shipping, packed with care and mailed from zip code 61833. Thank you for your purchase!
