This listing is for the as found Vintage Romania Always Ready Youth Athlete GMA Pin Enamel Metal Romanian Political Gata Mereu Aaproape Reconfirmare Level II Track Field Badge Sports collectible pictured only.The metal pin features a layered design with raised and recessed details.Near the top the letters GMA are highlighted by the colors of the Romanian flag.In the center on a field of blue there is a raised representation of a runner.Near the bottom there is the Communist red star symbol with II with Reconfirmare / Reconfirmation. GMA (Gata Mereu AaproapeI) refers to a government program for the health of the public, building a healthy community. The concept was based on the Soviet GTO (Ready for Labor and Defense) program. The gold tone pin is highlighted by colorful enamel shades of blue, yellow, and red.It could be used as a lapel pin, hat pin, vest badge or displayed.This pin is approximately 3/4 of an inch by 5/8 of an inch.
