COMPLETE Vietnam War M-1 Ingersoll Helmet, Liner

Lately we've found ourselves with too many M1 items and not enough free space, so it's time to thin the herd a bit. Our loss is your gain! Up for grabs - right here, right now, right away - is an M1 shell and matching liner from the late 60's (Vietnam War Era). Further details are listed below:Details: This helmet is complete, but it's been around the block a few times. Without further ado, here are all of the details:IN GENERAL: I've had the liner (hardhat) and shell (lid) for a while, but I'm trying to trim the fat a bit. I'm selling them both together as a set and I'm pretty sure that's how I bought them - way back when. LINER: This one is an orange vinyl version of the 'P64' model and is in pretty good overall condition. There's a stamp in the crown which reads "M 20". This letter indicates that it was made by Marmac. The liner & suspension were made between '64 & '72 (but the date is worn off), the nape strap is from '85, and the headband is from '85 (these last two accessories wore out quickly and were replaced often). The biggest flaws of the liner are: 1) There's some fraying on the edge, 2) It's been repainted and the 'new' paint has chipped off a bit, and 3) The 'A' washers have been painted over with a black coating of some sort. [My guess is that it was sent over to the Navy and they did #2 and #3 to better resist salt water. The last three pics show it well.] All that aside, it's in good shape and is COMPLETE. (Most liners on eBay are missing the nape strap... at the very least.) SHELL: This one was made by Ingersoll between 1966 & 1968. The heat stamp reads 'I 2203'. At some point it was repainted, but my guess was that it was done at a supply depot and then thrown back into service. It has a white-ish haze to it. Like the liner, this may have to do with salt water/spray/mist. There are nicks, scrapes, and chips to it - but not a lot. (If you'd like an inexpensive camo helmet cover to throw over it, just ask!) On the plus side, there are no dents or cracks. There are Post-'73 chin straps on it, again, probably added by the Navy. This guy's been through some stuff, no doubt - so please take a good look at ALL of the pics. I can't say for CERTAIN that it saw action in Vietnam, but it definitely COULD have. Not to mention the fact that it appears to have stayed in service through the 80's. IN CONCLUSION: It's in good shape and there's nothing broken (like the webbing, rim, or bails/loops). It's 'been there', so please look carefully at all of the photos before you even THINK about buying - I don't do refunds.NOTE: I usually have a number of other items listed as well.
