Description: This lot of 125 Coquina Shells, scientifically known as Donax variabilis, from the beautiful Sanibel Island in Florida. As per Lee County ordinance none of these shells were collected from live specimens and there are no pairs as these are all half shells. These shells range in size from 10-25mm or .5-1.25” and are perfect for collectors of shells or anyone looking to add a touch of the beach to their home decor. The shells originate from the United States, specifically from the southwestern coastal region of Florida and Sanibel Island. These shells are unique and each one has its own pattern, making them a special addition to any collection. Most of the patterns are a subtle white although there are a few nice pink and purple variants. This is also true for the back of the shells. I kept some of the best looking specimens to photograph in front of the bag. Most of the shells are more of a plain white color although there are some more colorful ones with patterns. You will receive all the shells pictured including the nice ones pictured in front. These shells will be shipped carefully.
