Description: Very Good Vintage Condition. No visible defects. Minimal fine surface scratches, light discoloration in some stone settings, dust and debris in crevices between black spacers and beads. Necklace was lightly cleaned, but a second more thorough cleaning is ideal. Beads are strung on silk or other fragile fiber, so necklace should not be exposed to moisture during cleaning process. Clasp is marked GM for Giuliano Fratti Milan. Amazingly, the original sticker is still attached to the clasp. It reads MADE IN ITALY. This dates the necklace to WWII, when Fratti was still situated in Italy producing jewelry. He later moved to New York following WWII and continued haute couture designs for Dior, Chanel, and others.
