Description: DION DIMUCCI - ORIGINAL 1981 BROOKLYN TABERNACLE FREE CONCERT POSTER An item so rare in the canon of Dion DiMucci memorabilia, it's almost ridiculous... It's an original poster, which appears to be from 1981, although the only date clues are day, date and month, no year, and it promotes an appearance by Dion DiMucci at the Brooklyn Tabernacle, a free show, from the overtly Christian Years... The poster reminds us all of his early Rock 'n' Roll / Doo Wop triumphs, namechecks The Belmonts and then takes time to point out that Dion was still around, and had 'a new song' to sing, and the assumption is that this was one that didn't feature Flo on his left, Mary on his right, Janie wouldn't be providing the evening's entertainment, and instead of 'Rosie' on his chest, he has Jesus in his heart... ...so, if you were expecting him to storm the stage and lay waste to all and sundry with a blistering version of 'Born To Cry' you may have wondered what was going on... More details? ~ Extremely rare item. ~ Dion DiMucci, Free Concert, Brooklyn Tabernacle, Flatbush Avenue...Come Early ~ An incomplete date, apparently 1981 (Some Sherlock Holmes-style detective work shows that Sunday November 29th ties it too 1981, plus Christian-era Dion, and the hat, too...) ~ The picture was acquired as part of an Estate Sale purchase. ~ The image is black and white, and will be mailed, carefully rolled and placed in a dedicated cardboard tube mailer. ~ Good condition, light signs of age, vintage and storage. ~ The poster is printed on fairly thick textured paper, which has yellowing to the top part, which can be seen in the pictures, uploaded. ~ At the edges there is a bit of light wear - some small tears at the edges here and there, the largest of which is 1" and can be seen next to the word 'hit' 3/4 of the way down, on the right side. ~ There are some other small marks, of obvious age, and storage, here and there, across the item. Please examine all the pictures closely, this is an original 35+ year old item, which was probably salvaged from a billboard, or some sort of Community Noticeboard somewhere in the vicinity of Flatbush Avenue, by a fan, with extremely good fortune... ~ Dion looks great, rockin' that Gatsby Newsboy cap like a good 'un, plus white ribbed t-shirt and a pinstripe jacket, too... ~ Pictures have been uploaded showing the full item, followed by varied quarter-size details of the the image and also of the rear. ~ Dimensions - 16' x 20" It's preposterously rare, it's a Dion poster, original 1981, it's the Christian-era, the whole event is virtually impossible to find any reference to...try and find another like it... ...Dion is Back, it proclaims...well, he never went away...all hail...
