Description: At 83, it is time to give my Disston restored saws new homes. A word about the restorations. No SHINY saw plates, gently dealt with: 0000 Steel Wool, WD 40, 1000 grit sandpaper, saw plate treated with a wax as well as the tote. The tote is treated gently to preserve the patina and character of the saw. As best as I can, I used the EXCELLENT reference "DISSTONIAN INSTITUTE" as a reference (tip of the hat to that gentleman)! This D-7 saw is rather interesting due to its LAMINATE HANDLE. It is the standard 26" length saw, 8ppi, a hole drilled in the toe (possibly for hanging /storage? The etch is rather soft, but visible. The only reference I have noted about a laminate Disston saw handle is in the Disstonian Institute's comments on a Victory saw D-15 that has the exact laminate handle. The author mentions that this laminate handle may be due to a wood shortage. The medallion,13/16" idenifies this saw at around 1947. Perhaps late forties or early fifties? I will ship this saw USPS Ground Advantage. Calculate your shipping cost using the following dimensions and using the USPS web site: Length 31", Width 10", Height 1". Weight 3 ibs, Zip 15241 NO Sales outside US. Compliments to Erik von Sneidern (Disstonian Institute Web Page) Please be certain that you calculate the correct shipping!
