Due to major compatibility problems with the Atari 810/DOS II the Dos 3.0 was discontinued and replaced by DOS 2.5. The DOS 2.5 worked with all dives on the market. Another added bonus Atari added a 130XE Ramdisk to DOS 2.5. Most Atari 1050 Disk Drives were shipped with DOS 3.0. DOS 3.0 was a good operating system just not compatible with single density disk drives. DOS 2.5 on a Single density disk work with all Atari disk drives including the Atari 810. We normally ship DOS 2.5 on a Double Density disk so if you only have a Single Density Disk Drive such as an Atari 810 be sure to request the DOS 2.5 on a Single Density Disk. The DOS 2.5 on Single Density Disk is identical to the DOS on a Double Density Disk. The only difference is the format of the disk. The DOS is the same on both disk.
