The Story: Travis (Stephen Baldwin) has just buried his father, when Kelly (Jennifer Rubin), an attractive hitchhiker walks into his life. Another attractive blonde, Jolene (Patsy Kensit) also starts taking an unusual interest in Travis. Both women are secretly after the same thing - and it's not Travis' good looks . . . or his intelligence. Comment: Patsy Kensit teams up with Jennifer Rubin to give a lonely, troubled young farmer the darkest of favors. He enjoys seduction and excitement but he is also corrupted and eventually murdered. Meanwhile the two women acquire his money, rare coins and a fall-guy for their crimes. Most importantly, they get their kicks. It's beautiful... it's provocative... it's a movie and that's the kind of things people do in movies. There is little verbal communication between the characters. Jolene, the temptress, is the most direct in her dialogue, though she prefers coded messages and outright lies. The others communicate almost exclusively through context, body language and sex... which is not all bad. Please note: there are at least two other popular films by the name Bitter Harvest. One was made in 2000, directed by Goran Paskaljevic and stars Colm Meaney (also known as How Harry Became a Tree). The other is a 1981 made-for-TV effort from director Roger Young, starring Ron Howard. This 1993 film (this eBay listing) with Patsy Kensit, Stephen Baldwin and Jennifer Rubin is nothing like either of the other titles. Per the label, the film has 100 minute running time. The film is presented in full-screen 4:3 format with English audio, no subtitles. This movie-on-demand MOD archive title on recorded media is new and factory sealed. The DVD disc is Region 1, NTSC format, specifically designed to play on DVD players in North America. It will probably not play on a PlayStation or similar game device.
