Description: A fine example of an early 19th century New England tall clock with a paint decorated case, with nicely carved crest and three wooden ball & spire finials surmounting an arched glazed glass door flanked by front support columns and diamond shape side windows, opening to a wooden polychrome hand painted dial with bird and scroll decoration, Roman numeral dial, and what appear to be original metal hands, over a grain painted waist door with the letter “E” and two diamonds. The clock has a wooden movement, with two weights and brass pendulum bob inside the case, and the clock is supported by a shaped base with four bracket feet. The clock is in good condition, with some surface rubs and minor imperfections and wear commensurate with age and use. It runs intermittently then stops, so the works need some attention. Dimensions: 90” H x 19 ½” W x 10” D.
