The artist statement from her website and partially written on the back is as follows: “Little Mother” is a painting I began during one of my many trips to El Salvador for missions and humanitarian work. The piece depicts a young girl caring for her little brother, which is a common sight there. But in such a culture, there is an inner strength that cannot go unnoticed. Siblings show love and care that they themselves have often not received. It reminds me that we each have the power to overcome our past and change our future…and the futures of those around us.The print is printed on 100% acid-free, 80# Patina Matte paper with UV rated inks. It is framed in a distressed and aged looking frame. It is in excellent condition with minor wear on the frame. The entire piece measures approximately 14 inches by 17 inches.
