Description: The Standing Liberty Quarter was issued from 1917 (a small number of 1916-dated coins were released in 1917) through 1930, in three major varieties. The first type (issued in 1917, dated 1916 and 1917) has a bare breast on Miss Liberty, the date is on a raised pedestal (so it wears off quickly), and there are no stars beneath the eagle. The second type (issued 1917-1924) shows Miss Liberty wearing a chain mail shirt (but still has the date problem), and there are three stars below the eagle. The third type (issued 1925-1930) finally solved the date problem.
