Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE ELNA SU 62C Sewing Machine w/case. **FRESHLY SERVICED** For sale is a sweet 62C sewing machine, Serial # B018724, manufactured in Switzerland in the early 70’s. It’s a great design – all stressed parts are made of metal. If you take care of it, it will last for generations while today’s current computerized plastic sewing machines will be in the landfill. This machine has been serviced and tested, and all functions work properly. All internals were de-gunked, cleaned, and re-oiled. (See photos taken during the cleaning process.) The foot pedal control was opened and contacts were cleaned. Tension disks were cleaned. The original bulb was replaced with a brighter LED bulb. The hard/brittle feet on the bottom of the machine were replaced with new non-skid feet. The carrying case is in great condition – it closes as it should and is not bent or misaligned. There is also a stitch sample of all internal stitches as well as one cam disk stitch (cam not included) and a video of the machine sewing in the attached photos. Included with the machine is a photocopy of the original 34-page Elna user manual and 4 bobbins. I’ve spent about 15 hours cleaning and servicing this Elna. I am not a thrift store reseller or estate auction house – my hobby is vintage sewing machines. (Check out my other machines for sale on Ebay and my feedback.) Beware of other listings that say that their machine “RUNS FINE!” or “WORKS!” without showing the internal condition of the machine. These SU models were manufactured in the 1970’s. They are a great design. But they are 50 years old and need to be serviced to ensure that they will continue to work well. This particular machine had lots of lint, as well as several pins and a button inside under the gears. Also, the needle position dial on the SU is prone to lock up with the passage of time. The needle position mechanism on this one has been cleaned, lubricated, and operates freely. You can “save” money by purchasing a machine with an unknown service history. But with repair shop rates of $80-$125/hour, your savings will disappear the first time you bring it in for a repair. This listing is likely higher in price than the other SU’s on Ebay. But if you want to be assured of a trouble free SU, this is the one you want. Keep in mind that this is a vintage machine. While it is in very good condition, it will have minor scratches, chips and wear that have accumulated over the years. The photos are high resolution – please view them closely to ensure you are happy with the condition of the machine. Rest assured that the machine will be packaged securely to ensure it arrives undamaged – it usually takes me an hour to package my machines for shipment!
