Educated by Karl Larsen 1932-33. Study trips to Paris and Munich. Exhibitions since 1930. Erik Larsen was known for his bohemian life style. He devided his time between pubs in Copenhagen and the life in the country side. In his early years he was greatly inspired by French artists and he painted circus, carnival, pub and exotic scenes. Later he painted topics of historical or literary content, such as scenes from Thousand and One Night.
