Description: This eBay item is a Farnell PSG520 frequency generator. Farnell is a UK company. I bought this on eBay a long time ago. I wanted something that was less noisy than the Wavetek 3001s I'd been using. I checked it when I got it and it didn't seem to work, but I didn't spend any time with it or take it apart. Now it's time for me to be clearing things out. So I pulled out this signal generator and plugged it in.I didn't see any output, so I took the cover off and re-seated all the connectors. Now it works, but I don't have any manual to tell me about calibration. The AM works perfectly. I don't have a deviation meter to check the FM. The RF amplitude may be off. When the dials say 0dBm the scope says 400mV across 50 Ohm.The frequency is 0.002% different than my HP counter, but this may be my counter. It takes a long time to lock up when you make a big change in frequency, several seconds. It's consistent and it may just be the nature of the beast. It locks up at 503 MHz but seemed to have trouble locking at 520 MHz. It's heavy, almost 20 Lbs. If you want more info or different pictures please message me.
