Floradora by Armand Marseille 17" Doll 1912 Antique Bisque Germany 3 owners

Description: This lovely original 1912 Floradora doll has bright brown glass eyes, 3 teeth and (probably a replacement) wig of reddish brown ringlets. Manufactured in Germany in 1912 by Armand Marseille, this Floradora has had three owners, documented in a handwritten note by the previous owner that was pinned to her petticoat in 1974. (If you were to count the grandmother who originally purchased the doll in 1912 and myself as the current seller/owner, the total number of owners would technically be 5.) Floradora is made of bisque and composition material, with body parts strung together in pieces (like some puppets) for her arms and legs. I did remove the left shoe & sock to check her feet and they look great--see additional pictures. The shoes are fragile and I decided not to risk unsnapping the other, right shoe. I held her head up to a light and could see no cracks in it. The dress is pinned together and also fragile so I did not remove it. Floradora has some imperfections, but I have minimized handling of her just as her previous owners did. The fingertips of her hands are somewhat missing, as shown, but besides that she is in great shape and, according to the handwritten note, was never played with by the 6 year old girl it was originally bought for but was stored in its box, which was apparently lost over time.
