Description: Goebel M.I. Hummel # 86. With Decimal Point! - "Happiness" - 5.25" Tall (1/4" Taller than catalog lists!) - Full Bee Mark (TMK-2) - Closed Edition - Both Pig Tails Down! - Beautiful Glossy Vibrant Colored Example! HUM 86. Happiness - TMK-2 Height 5.25" Tall This hummel was first modeled by master sculptor Reinhold Unger in 1938. There are many size and color variations between older and newer models. Made with either square or rectangular base. Some older models have both pig tails down, most have one in a horizontal position. This hummel listing is one of the older versions from the early 1950s with Both Pig Tails Down and a rectangular base. This one also has a Decimal Point after the incised number, which is rare. This hummel is one quarter of an inch taller than the highest range of 4.5"-5" stated in the catalogs, standing at 5.25" tall. The original name of this hummel was "Traveler's Song" or "Wandersong" in some older catalogs. This example is quite nice, as the colors are vibrant and glossy. It also has the Master Painter "2" marking on the underside of the base in black. There is a tiny chip on the top of her hair, difficult to see. Has "" Full Bee Marking (TMK-2) stamped in Blue on underside of base. Hand Signed "2" in black, presumably from Master Painter on underside of base. Incised Hummel Number "86." (With Decimal Point!) and Factory Control Number "40" on underside of base and incised "M.J. Hummel" on rear side of base. Has "Germany" stamped in Black on underside of base. Has Both Pig Tails in Down Position! Most have only one pig tail down. Hummel is One Quarter of an inch Taller than the catalogs tallest height range of 4.5"-5", standing at 5.25" high. Colors are Vibrant and Glossy. Hummel is in good condition considering it's age! No Repairs! No Crazing! No Touch Ups! Very small chip on tip of hair, difficult to see. May also have a little dust from sitting in the China Cabinet for decades. I did not want to damage it inadvertently by cleaning it. Buyer to pay actual shipping expense determined by eBay.
