Description: You will receive 100 Seeds (with wisps/pappus attached) from our Goldenrods growing in sunny Florida. Home grown naturally using regenerative growing methods with lots of love and zero chemicals, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers. The seeds are from our most recent harvest and are fresh viable seeds ready to sow. I believe it is the Seaside variety of Goldenrod. Growing Info & TipsGoldenrod is a herbaceous perennial with beautiful clusters of bright yellow flowers. It grows well in Zones 8A-10B and is easy to establish and maintain. Goldenrod is not picky when it comes to soil conditions, average or sandy soil is fine with moist to well-drained conditions. It grows best in full sun. The beautiful yellow flower blooms appear in the fall. Best of all, goldenrod is very much loved by the pollinators; their nectar attracts a variety of butterflies and bees. For Sowing the Goldenrod Seeds: Sow seeds after the chance of frost has past. Seeds can be sown directly in the ground or in pots or seed starting trays. Sow the seeds close to the surface, around 1/4th of an inch deep (lightly covering them) in pre-moistened potting mix. Keep soil moist but well drained in partial shade until germination, when they can be gradually moved to full sun exposure. Goldenrod seeds can take up to 7-14 days to germinate so be patient. When transplanting or direct sowing, spacing them a few inches apart is ideal. When mature they can reach 4-5ft in height and 1ft wide. Taste, Preparation, & UsesGoldenrods have been used medicinally since Roman times. Seaside goldenrod was used locally here in Florida by the Seminoles to treat wounds. With the goldenrod flowers and leaves you can make a tincture, tea, infused oil, salves or natural dye. I like making and using infused oil from dried goldenrod flowers and we also enjoy goldenrod tea. To brew a cup, simply add approx. approx 2 tablespoons of fresh flowers per cup of water and let steep for 15-20mins. Please Note: All of my seeds are fresh and viable. Growing plants from seeds is fun! The majority of the time it is a success but sometimes itβs not. This just is the way it is with nature and gardening. I hope you experience success with all the seeds, however because I am not there to plant them, I cannot be responsible for germination failure due to improper planting or climate conditions etc. I do include a detailed note with planting advice with your order to help ensure your success.
