They include a 12ga shotgun shell cap, a .30 caliber bullet style pen body, a shotgun clip and a large, nib on the fountain pen style. Features a quality smooth writing rollerball refill and a rose gold nib. Both strong and beautiful, Brownheart has been harvested and used for both utility and aesthetic purposes throughout its natural range. Brownheart has been formerly classified in the Andira genus, and is closely related to Patridgewood (and the wood also bears a close resemblance visually as well.) Heartwood is a medium to dark brown, sometimes with a reddish hue. Lighter brown lines (from parenchyma) mixed throughout give a contrasted appearance. Pale sapwood is clearly demarcated from heartwood. As a world renowned artisan, I was able to form this fine writing instrument through a painstaking process that involved several hours and stages in order to present a finely polished work of art. Each blank was measured and drilled before inserting a brass tube. They were then trued on each end before being placed on my Rikon midi-lathe for the shaping using various chisels. When the desired shape was achieved I then took them through a multi-stage sanding process finishing with nine steps of micro-mesh, followed by polishing with boiled linseed oil and medium Cyanoacrylate, then thin Cyanoacrylate, finished up with Carnauba wax resulting in a glass like finish. This fine writing instrument is destined to provide years of pleasure for the discriminating user.
