Description: Hammondsport, NY - Steuben County Bank of Bath NY. Check from Pleasant Valley Wine Company, organized in 1860. Dated April 22, 1875 it sports great vignettes of the founder and a great United States Internal Revenue Stamp for 2 cents, RN-D1. This check is graded fine with 2 small splits in the margins - the first above the A in Vienna around 12 o'clock - the second is around 7:30 o'clock under the printer name of Clay, Cosack & Co Buffalo New York. It is punch out cancelled several times and does have some pinholes that are easily spotted on the back. It must have been good wine, because it claims to have taken first prize in Vienna in 1873. Really neat looking check with great color! If you have any questions, please email. I am almost always willing to negotiate. Shipping is $1 within the United States and will ship USPS Mail eBay Standard Envelope or Regular Mail USPS. Outside of the United States shipping is paid by the client. I use Ebay International Shipping, and the rates are calculated based on your location.
