Description: An old hand drawn study of couples visiting a money changer or tax collector, likely Northern European (German, Dutch, or Flemish), early 19th century. Graphite on paper, loose sheet measuring approx. 11.75"h x 10.25"w. In fair antique condition, with a thick border of mottled discoloration along the sheet's edge, as well as isolated spotting (the most dramatic near the image's top center), a few edge tears, a few lifted or pilled areas on the sheet, and some residual tape, potentially with acid burn - see pictures. Signed "Wilhelm" and dated "1814," with some other inscriptions. Track Page Views WithAuctiva's Counter
