This is not a former library book. Cloth & paper hardcover in one (1) volume with red, orange, and blue lettering on spine alone (see photos). Cover boards are secure, no dustjacket. Inside covers front and rear are clean, however inside rear cover contains a neat (and vintage) note in ink concerning rental cars! (see photos). Front and rear endpapers are clean, with NO previous owner's signature, inscription, bookplate, or embossed seal. Binding is tight and square, text blocks are all secure. Binding within is intact. Hinges & gutter are good & intact. Very minimal edgewear to cover boards. Cover corners very slightly bumped at bottom, top corners are square and sharp. Spine is faded slightly, and crumpled at bottom, but not torn at either top or bottom edges. Pages edges smooth cut top and bottom, irregular or rough cut and slightly yellowed at side edges Inside pages are clean and bright. Some pages bumped but not folded at bottom corners (see inside page photo for example). Other than as described above, book bears no marks or water staining, and does not smell of age, rot, mold, dank, basements, smoke of any kind, damp, or mustiness. Book is from an adult, non-smoking household, and is in very solid and handleable condition. It is also a very timely read, and cautionary tale.
