Description: Nice stamp showing a rare and well placed Paia town postmark. This postmark had limited usage from about October 1899 until June 1900. I believe this to be Meyer Harris # 253.01 It is estimated that there are less than 75 known examples. It is challenging to differentiate between this postmark and the more common # 253.9a1, without the word Maui visible as a point of reference.The only possible giveaway here is the comma after Paia,which has a tail in the latter, and is more of a period blob in the former.
