Description: This listing is for the - KK4HXJ - Deluxe V Series assembled test probe set This is the "Original" Replacement probe set sold here on eBay for over 4 Years This auction is for a completely assembled set of test probes for most Heathkit meters which require 3 Leads (V-4/5/6/7 and A Models as well as the IM-10 and IM-32) and many others that use a 1/4" phone style meter connection for DC and Banana Plugs for the Ground/Common and AC/Ohms Leads. There are 3 seperate test leads required for this meter: One probe is for DC Measurement (1/4" Phone plug to a Black Test Probe with a 1Meg ohm 1/2 watt resistor installed) One probe is for AC/Ohms Measurement (Red Banana Plug to Red Test Probe) the 3rd lead is the ground lead (Black Banana Plug to Alligator Clip.) The unit is presented in a Labeled, Retail Quality, Reusable, 4 Mil Poly Ziplock Bag and is wrapped with a Reusable Velcro Strip to keep the leads organized and ready. I personally created the printed laminate label and heat shrink tubing technique seen on these probes as well as the hot glue injection strain relief technique which results in the most durable and long lasting probes available for these meters today! This is hand assembled by me from my popular Deluxe VTVM probe kit sold here on eBay, using my methods and good attention to detail which is composed of the following items (many of which are hard to source economically): 1 Pair of Test Lead Probes - 1 Red/1 Black - Genuine Philmore 912J & 913J Probes 1 1/4" Mono Phone Plug w/Metal Housing and Clear Heat Shrink Sleeve 1 1Meg Ohm 1 Watt Resistor 1 Alligator Clip & Heat Shrink Tubing 2 Laminated Self Adhesive Probe Labels and Clear Heat Shrink Tubing to cover the probe labels, resulting in a professional and durable setup (see photos) 1 36" length of RG174 Coaxial Wire for DC Lead (Very Flexible - makes a great test lead) 1 36" Length of 18 Gauge Black Rubber Test Lead Wire (PowerWerx brand Very Flexible - High Quality) for the Ground Lead 1 36" Length of 18 Gauge Red Rubber Test Lead Wire (PowerWerx brand Very Flexible - High Quality) for the AC/Ohms Lead 1 Each Red/Black Genuine Johnson-Cinch Soldered Banana Plugs The original instructions specify shielded cable for the DC lead, the original supplied wire was a coaxial microphone style wire, many people use either standard (unshielded) test probe wire for the leads or a shielded coaxial cable, I Supply a 36" piece of black RG174 for the DC lead, a 36" piece of Red test probe wire for the AC/Ohms lead and a 36" piece of black test probe wire for the ground I Use these probes on my Heathkit V-7A meter with excellent results, and these meters are indespensible for working on Vintage Radio Gear (And I prefer them to my more modern FET meters for this type of work) Most Newer Meters (i.e. IM-11,13,18,28,5218,5228) use a different set of leads which I also offer in Complete Kit, Partial Kit and Completely assembled form in my eBay Store) I have shipped these probes and kits to several dozen countries and have received nothing but praise for bot the kits and probes, I think you too will be pleased with this simple and durable set to get that old meter back in service!
