Thanks again for looking! Offered for sale is Heirloom Cotton Batiste from Arthur Johnson. This is a very fine 100% combed cotton fabric that is most often used in French Heirloom sewing by machine. We currently offer this fabric in two colors--white and ivory. When ordering a new bolt of the ivory color, it came 45" wide, so we are lowering the price on the Ivory fabric. The white batiste is still 60" wide and will stay at the current price. If you have any questions, please email me. This fabric has a very soft hand for use in sewing doll clothes, slips, ladies' blouses, etc. When the supplier of our Victorian batiste no longer carried the product, we purchased this fabric from another supplier to try out. It has a lighter hand than the Victorian batiste but could be used in many of the same projects. It doesn't have the sheen of a Swiss batiste--it is more like a lightweight cotton lawn. The sample shown in the pictures is the blush color sewn with white entredeux. I used a size 60 needle and size 80wt. cotton thread and spray starched both the fabric and the entredeux before stitching. We carry a selection of French Heirloom laces in both white & ivory. We also offer Swiss Entredeux in both white & ivory, and Mettler 60/2 and Madeira 80 wt. heirloom sewing thread in colors to match the fabrics along with machine needles.
