Heisey Empress Sahara Yellow Mayonnaise Dish 5.5" Ftd Elegant Depression Glass

Description: Just unpacked form a box that was packed away some 25-35 years ago comes this stunning mayonnaise dish in the "Empress" pattern of Elegant Depression Glass. This pattern was manufactured by the A. H. Heisey Glass Company of Ohio and was made from 1932-1934 in colors. They continued to make this pattern in clear glass after 1934, but they changed the name to "Queen Anne". I identified this pattern and the information pertaining to it in the book "Elegant Glassware of the Depression Era" by Cathy & Gene Florence (copyright 2009, 13th edition). Elegant Depression Glass is that glassware which was sold at better department stores and jewelry stores during the Depression Era (1930's - 1950's). I have already stated that the "Empress" pattern in various colors was made only from 1932-1934. This mayonnaise dish is yellow in color, which the company called "Sahara Yellow". The dish measures 5 1/2 inches across and stands 3 1/4 inches tall. There are 3 dolphin feet and they are in flawless condition, as is the dish itself! The condition is EXCELLENT or PRISTINE with no chips, no cracks, no cloudiness, no damage at all. I feel no roughness at all. I see no scratches at all. This may never have been used!! There is NO ladle but if you would like a yellow Depression Glass ladle, check eBay and make sure that you get a bright yellow spoon or ladle - not an amber one - to match exactly. This is one of the nicest pieces of Heisey that I have ever put up for sale!! There is no Heisey mark on this piece, but it is 100% Heisey.
