Description: White china sugar bowl and lid by Homer Laughlin has the Maple Leaf pattern. It is white, pink and green. The sugar bowl measures 4" tall (with lid), 3" tall (without lid) by 5 1/2" by 7" (which includes handles) wide. It was made in US. It is in very good condition from the 1940s and has no chips or cracks. The gold trim has some imperfections everywhere. There is some kind of design in the china surface and there is gold missing all over and I think it's more because it didn't get into all the little crevices. It could be wear but it's a lot and would have been handled a lot and there is no wear anywhere else to indicate that it was used that much. There is also a stain on the lid. It starts on the underside and goes onto the side of the lid, it is under the glaze so it was done during manufacture. Around the handle of the lid are some imperfections that were also done during manufacture, common in these older pieces where there are little pieces of the material they didn't bother to remove and just glazed over. Despite everything, it is still in very good condition for it's age. I know that's a lot but I try to say exactly what any problems are instead of just saying to look at the pictures.
